I started swimming when I was just four years old as a Mudskipper at Las Trampas Pool. From the very beginning I knew that I loved the water and that I never wanted to stop swimming.
After mudskippers I went to 6&unders and then moved my way up the ladder to finish my Las Trampas swimming carrier last summer after my final year as a 15-18. I swam at Las Trampas for a total of fourteen years. During these fourteen years I also participated in other swimming activities such as the water polo and swim teams of Acalanes High School. Freshman year of high school I played water polo and swam on the junior varsity teams. Then sophomore year, I started swimming during the winter at Campolindo through the Orinda Aquatics high school pre-season program. I also moved up to the varsity water polo and swim teams sophomore year, which I continued to participate in throughout high school.
I am now a freshman at the University of California in San Diego, and continue to find pleasure in the pool. I am a member of the masters swimming program here on campus and I also participate in the school’s club water polo team.
Not only do I love the sport of swimming, but I also love working with children. I started working with kids at the age of twelve. During middle school I worked as an In-the-Water coach at Las Trampas. During the summers after my seventh and eighth grades, I also volunteered at Lafayette Nursery School as an assistant to the pre-school teachers.
When I reached high school I became even more involved in Las Trampas Pool. The summers after my freshman and sophomore years I volunteered at the pool as a junior coach. Then at seventeen I became the Mudskipper assistant coach. The summer after my senior year I became an assistant coach and I am ecstatic to return this summer once again as an assistant coach.
